Ugh. So, I'm at work and don't have anything to do, really. So, I'm cutting my hours short to leave after grades are due (noon) because then I definitely won't have anything to do. That makes sense because it's the 7 week break, so I'm ok with that (although I would love the $15 I would make if I were to stay the whole time, oh well!). I'm currently looking for an internship and have begun heavy duty looking! I'm praying I get one that's paid, so if you would to--I'd greatly appreciate it. :)
Anywho, While I'm sitting here waiting for a lovely teacher to request my help, guess what I'm doing....

Pinterest!!! So, if any of you my dear friends haven't heard of this marvelous creation, I'll tell you about it.
It's wear you get to "pin" anything from a site you visit: blogs, shopping, how to websites, comics etc. This way you can login to pinterst and view it later and you have an easy, convenient way to look back at it. I HATE it with a passion when I see something cute and don't know where it was from. Another benefit is seeing what other people post (probably my recent fav). This is like searching hundreds of sites in minutes! Who could ask for anything more? So, this is a way of organizing the chaos. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.
Anywho.... I thought I would share with you some of my findings (particularly those who don't have pinterst. Who knows, you, too, could be converted to this magnificent method.
Ok, I'll stop with the fashion ones but trust me; there's more where these came from!
Just in case you're wondering... Pinterest is how I decided the wonderfulness of this post.

Kitchen Tip
Ok, so I am studying Family and Consumer Sciences Education (formerly known as home economics education). It's pretty sad when your husband says that he hasn't seen any evidence that you haven't really learned anything, but I proved him otherwise and now make it a point to point out when I learned something in class.
Yesterday, we were saddened when we saw our spinach sitting on the counter from the night before all wilted and sad looking. I learned in my foods classes that you can do some really cool things with veggies if you put them in ice cold water (like green onions will curl when you cut the green part thin enough), and you can keep stuff from browning. I don't know if I actually heard it could revive them, too, but I tried it. And it worked.
So if you ever have greens/veggies that are limp, go put them in a bowl of ice cold water, and watch them come back to life!!! Be sure to pick out any of them that are dying (for spinach they go dark green/black) because when the cells die (and turn that color) they release some sort of chemical that makes the ones surrounding it die, too. If they are in water, it will spread even more. h, and make sure you use them that day (especially if it's spinach maybe celery and carrots would last a bit longer).

"Professional"
I have recently discovered Steven's opinion of hairdos: All done updos (like basically everything besides a messy ponytail or bun)=professional. So when I try to do my hair cute, if it is up he says something like, "That would cute for teaching."
What is a girl to do? I'm sick of ponytails, and straightening/curling takes quite some time (AND my straightener is broken)..... drats.
I mean is this cute or is this cute?

CFCS
Ok, so when I went to Phoenix for the AAFCS conference, we decided to take a certification test for FCS people. It was totally last-minute. Well, last-hour I guess. We seriously had 1.5 hours to study once we signed up. We all went in (there is a 3-hour time slot to take the test), and we all came out fried. Holy cow. That test just was crazy! I was freaking out. "I just wasted money on a test that won't make any difference." I was trying to be positive by thinking, "It's a learning experience. I will at least have a feel for what they expect me to know."
I waited and waited, not knowing to expect an email with the scores or what. I asked around and found out I would receive it in snail mail. Great. AND it would be a month. I pretty much forgot about this puppy.
I got it today. I'm not sure what the numbers are; I will look at it later. All I care about is that I passed!!!! I didn't waste all that money.
When I graduate I won't just be a graduate I will be Abigail Perry, CFCS! haha awesome.

Conversations, again

This morning at breakfast, Steven and I decided to have cold cereal. Usually we (usually he) make(s) something, but we were in a hurry so cold cereal it was. We had some Honey Bunches of Oats with Pecans. Now wait a minute. How did you just say that last word? Steven this morning said, "How do you like it with pecans?" To clarify pee-CANS (like can you open this can). I replied with a very straight face, "You say that like a northerner; my family laughs at people like you."
HAHA Ok, so I thought I was pretty dang clever and funny at this point, and Steven laughs mostly because I said it so seriously (most likely because it is true.....) Am I right or am I right though? "pee-can" and/or "pe-can" sounds funny, although it does make more sense than "pe-con."
So, we continue breakfast and...
Steven: Do you want "so and so" leftovers for lunch.
Me: No, I don't really like it.
Steven: Picky, picky, picky. My family laughs at people like you.
hahaha And so true! I'm probably like almost to, or at, the point of ridiculous in his family's eyes (even if I have made leaps and bounds in improving).
Speaking of which, i have tried many things in the past couple of years that I still am not fond of:
Seafood (I've tried: king crab leg, lobster, calamari, fish (don't remember which kind), etc.)
Mushrooms
Textured things like pudding, jello, whip cream, etc.
But now I do like:
Onions
Soups (for the most part)
Pies (although not all)
and a lot more things I still can't remember because they are now a part of my normal diet :)

Weekend
We didn't bring along our camera, but we had an awesome and extremely fun weekend. Friday, Steven and I just chilled out (which is always fun), and Saturday.... Well, Saturday was quite the eventful day!!! First, we got to sleep in (sort of). Then, we planned with Steven's mom and 3 youngest siblings some fun adventures. We went out to lunch at Olive Garden, which was delicious. Followed by the Body Exhibit!(You can Google it if you don't know much about it; I'm too lazy right now)
Oh my gosh, can I just say two things?
#1 I was completely disguisted at the idea of seeing bodies that were real and questioned really going.
#2 It was the coolest thing I'd ever seen.
Indeed, at first I was completely grossed out, and at the end not much had changed. Seeing how complicated our bodies really are is just literally "awesome." Steven has taken quite a bit of anatomy, so it was amazing going with him because we got the 4-1-1 that the signs didn't give.
The coolest thing I liked, was the area showing about lungs. In between a healthy lung and a diseased lung from smoking, was a tall, clear box with an opening. What was at the bottom? Cigarettes people have dropped in there saying they were going to quit.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to stick around long enough to slowly walk around getting all the details, Steven needed to go count some cells for his internship (yahoo...).
We went out to dinner with his great-aunt and great-uncle for dinner and went to their house for games. We played "And it Came to Pass." I want this game! So fun! So unique! Then we played Origins. It reminds me of Balderdash except you have to make up the origin of a well-known phrase like "Don't bite off more than you can chew" instead of making up a definition to a not so well-known word. Then, we had some ice cream (vanilla topped with caramel and nuts-yum!) and talked. We drove home. Well, I drove and Steven took a nap. He was REALLY tired, but who can blame him? We had a spectacular day!
