Doctors

Read at your own risk! :) Feel free just to go down and scroll through pictures of our cutie!

I see the need for doctors, so don't get me wrong. Why do you always hurt after seeing them?! haha I feel like I've been beat up, again! The first time was labor recovery (ok.. so that one wasn't really their fault), but I went again yesterday. I got a mole removed, another skin growth thing frozen, and inserted the implanon. My arm has this constant pain and has this huge nasty bruise from it being inserted too superficial and having to pull back and retry it. I just discovered that it hurts to bend my arm. Great.

And my mole? Well, let's just say it's location is not in a very convenient location, especially while breastfeeding. The wound lies right underneath the bra line, and I hurt without one.... Planning=epic fail. We PLANNED on doing this after delivery. Ugh. Who's idea was that? I know they didn't want to expose me to the possibility of getting an infection and doing it with a huge bump would have been hard, but oh my we should have done it a LONG time ago. So, I can't pick up Emily and burp her like normal; I have to prop her bum out and away (with my arm that hurts!).

We also get to find out if the mole was malignant or not. This is where, honestly, I am grateful for doctors and medicine. I have had a HUGE history of sunburns. The nurse asked "How many sunburns have you had?" My response, "Like, this year?" haha! I honestly thought that was the weirdest question. Try like I've been burned almost about every summer (Maybe besides this one because I stayed inside-WAY too hot outside for a pregnant lady). I've had blisters from sunburns MULTIPLE times-once really bad when I was a baby, once on my arms my senior year of marching band, and probably mild cases in between. So, I believe I told her 30-50 because who in the heck is able to count their sunburns? When you are this fair? I think not.

Anywho, I have known since 10th grade biology that I was going to get skin cancer. And it would most likely cause my death. Dead serious. They put up a list of things that increase your chance of getting skin cancer. For instance, "Being fair-skinned" "Burning easily" "Being severely sunburned as a child."  I can't remember all of them, but I do know that out of the 10, I believe I had about 8 of them. I will be keeping Emily out of the sun. Like, I'm almost debating whether we will make fun summer trips to the pool when she's older. #superprotectivemom

Note to everybody: Beware of getting stuff done to you while you have a baby. Because you may have been able to just sit on the couch and wait it off before, but after the baby you have to suck it up and take the pain. it's a good thing I love that little one so much.

"Look at me, I'm a supermodel!"
" You didn't tell me it was a closeup!"
"Oh, well. This is whole camera in my face all the time is making me tired."
 "What's over there?"

  1. I completely agree! I love your warning. I am so grateful my mom was here after I had my gallbladder out. I couldn't even hold her longer than 5 min and I was sore. :( Good luck!!! You can do it!

    1. Thanks! I sure hope so! It should be easier that Steven is home! You are so lucky that your mom is near. I know she's not super close, but I wish my mom lived close enough to come out when stuff like this happens!
